Checked this place out for lunch yesterday with a couple of coworkers during our break for first aid training at St. John's right around the corner.
The place is not flashy, but that's cool with me. It seems like it has some character and a personal feel to it.
Who I assume were the owners behind the counter, acknowledged a bunch of regulars who came in at the same time and knew their orders, sensibilities, etc. That's what's important to me. In the age of sterile franchises with blah menu items, this place stacks up. Honestly, I didn't think my footlong salami was any better or worse than any I would get at any of the franchise sandwich shops, but I'll go back to support a local and independent shop.
The pricing was comparable to any other sandwich place, so next time you're thinking of spending on a sub when you're out -- drop in and support them! -

I didn't enjoy my experience. The person making my husband's submarine wore gloves
but she wiped her nose on the back of her hand while make the sandwich. She did not change her gloves the entire time and used the till with her gloves on.
